At the Somali American Youth Enrichment Club (SAYEC), we are committed to empowering youth from inner-city and low-income backgrounds by providing opportunities for growth through sports, academic support, and community engagement. Based in the Greater Twin Cities, MN, our mission is to create a safe and supportive environment where children can thrive physically, mentally, and emotionally, while fostering a strong sense of community and belonging. We also place an emphasis on mental health, ensuring every young person feels seen, supported, and capable of reaching their full potential.

Our Journey of Empowerment and Growth

Founded by a group of immigrant fathers in 2010, SAYEC was established to address the lack of recreational and developmental opportunities for children in underserved communities. Initially focused on providing soccer programs for youth, the organization quickly grew in response to community needs. Over the years, SAYEC has expanded to offer a wide range of initiatives, including academic tutoring, cultural enrichment, and leadership development.
